Donor Herd:
Our closed herd of universal donors is subject to the highest animal health standards and receives documented routine veterinary care.
All donors are test negative for:
- Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA)
- Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA)
- Dourine
- Glanders
- Brucellosis
- Piroplasmosis
To maintain herd health all donors are frequently immunized for:
- Lawsonia intracellularis
- Equine Influenza
- Tetanus
- Equine Herpes Virus
- Botulism Type B Toxoid
- Rabies
- R. equi
- Potomac Fever
- Escherichia coli
- West Nile Virus
- Equine Rotavirus
- Salmonella
- Strep. Equi
- Eastern and Western Encephalomyelitis
- Clostridium perferingens Type A, C, & D
LI Plasma Quality Assurance
- All serials of our antibody products are release tested for EIA.
- All serials of our antibody products are 100% sterility tested and cultured negative for anaerobic bacteria, aerobic bacteria and fungi.
- All serials of our antibody products are filtered to be virtually free of red blood cells
- All serials of our antibody products are collected from universal plasma donors (meeting UC Davis criteria for plasma donors).
- Each bag of our antibody plasma product has a required and test verified level of acceptable specific IgG content.
- This confirms:
- Assured bag to bag uniformity
- Assured serial to serial uniformity
- Ongoing safety is monitored and assured through an established reaction reporting system.
