Read the following abstract "Efficacy of a commercially available hyperimmune plasma product for the prevention of naturally acquired Rhodococcus equi pneumonia in foals. "

In this year's field trial at an Ocala, Florida thoroughbred farm, we demonstrated a 40% reduction in the incidence of R. equi pneumonia between the foals treated with our Rhodococcus equi Antibody and the controls who received no preventative treatment. We have done more research on the prevention of Rhodococcus equi foal pneumonia than any other company and are sharing our data with University researchers across the country in order to develop a better understanding of this disease.

In combination with these researchers we plan to publish two papers on the subject in the near future. Lake immunogenics as more data on file in support of the efficacy of Rhodococcus equi Antibody than any other manufacturer, therefore we are currently recommending administering two 950 ml doses of Rhodococcus equi Antibody during the time of exposure, depending on local conditions. A general rule for prevention would be to administer the first dose at day 5 and repeat in 3 weeks.
